ABOUT THE HOST: It’s pronounced surf–and yes–it is his real name, promise. Cerphe has been on rock radio in Washington, DC for 35+ years and is as passionate about green living as he is about music. Named “Greenest DJ in America” and appointed to the Global Advisory Committee by Earth Day Network, Cerphe hosts The Progressive Show and Global Café on Eco Planet Radio and the Vinyl Vault on Cerphe began his broadcast career at WHFS while an art major at American University.

After a long run at WHFS, Cerphe moved on to legendary DC rock stations WAVA, DC101, WJFK and ClassicRock 94.7 before landing at Eco Planet Radio where he shares his passion for green living and great music. During a broadcast career that spans more than three decades, Cerphe has shared conversations with superstars including George Harrison of The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones, showing his unique ability to reveal a celebrity’s personality, not just their perceived image.
